The Armor of God

It hit me one day how satan love to attack our mind. This is where he has a field day with so many people. I don’t know about you but the battle starts for me before my feet hit the floor. Satan reminds me of something that needs to be done, was said, some fear, some resentment, just anything to get me stirred up before my day ever starts. In Ephesians 6:11-18 the Bible says “Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints”. Paul goes through a whole description of “putting on the armor”. As I was thinking about this scripture it hit me …. Would I send my brother to Iraq without a helmet, boots, weapon, vest, etc.? Well no of course not! Then why would I go into battle in the world everyday without my provisions?

If you saw a soldier in Iraq trying to take an armed enemy captive without a weapon or protection you would think he was crazy but I do that every day when I don’t spend time in God’s word, talk back to negative thoughts, guard my tongue and my actions.

If you want to win the fight equip yourself with the best of equipment!
